Saturday’s results

U.S. 1 , England 1

Clint Dempsey scored on a blunder by goalkeeper Robert Green in the 40th minute, and the United States came from behind to tie England at Rustenburg.

Steven Gerrard had put England ahead in the fourth minute, blowing past Ricardo Clark to beat goalkeeper Tim Howard from inside the 6-yard box.

South Korea 2, Greece 0

Lee Jung-soo and Park Ji-sung each scored and South Korea cruised to a win over lackluster Greece at Port Elizabeth.

Lee tapped in a free kick from short range in the seventh minute and Park Ji-sung doubled the lead in the 52nd with a slick solo goal.

Argentina 1, Nigeria 0

Gabriel Heinze’s diving header gave Argentina just enough for a nervous victory over Nigeria at Johannesburg.

Heinze scored in the sixth minute, taking advantage of weak defense to power in a shot from 12 yards off Juan Sebastian Veron’s corner kick.
