Suspended Backup forward Dorell Wright was suspended for two games by the Miami Heat, one day after he was cited for driving under the influence. He was charged early Thursday with DUI and driving with a suspended license after a traffic stop in Miami Beach. Wright has not made any public statements since the arrest. The 6-foot-8 player is averaging 6.3 points in 57 games this season.

Argued After more than a year and a half of legal maneuvering in their closely watched labor fight with the NFL, Minnesota Vikings defensive tackles Kevin Williams and Pat Williams may finally learn in May if they must serve a four-game suspension for taking a banned substance. Attorneys for the players and the NFL made closing arguments Friday in Minneapolis, wrapping up a five-day trial. The players contend the NFL broke Minnesota law when it applied its anti-doping policy two years ago and are seeking unspecified damages. A ruling is expected in the first half of May.

Testified Former Texas Tech football coach Mike Leach spent more than five hours behind closed doors in Lubbock, Texas, testifying under oath as part of his lawsuit against the school for firing him amid allegations he mistreated a player suffering from a concussion.

Sidelined Houston All-Star first baseman Lance Berkman will have minor surgery on his left knee today and miss two to four weeks, which could sideline him for opening day.

•Chicago White Sox outfield prospect Jared Mitchell sprained his right ankle while making a spectacular, against-the- wall catch in a 10-7 win over the Los Angeles Angels in Tempe, Ariz. Mitchell was carted off the field and taken to a hospital for X-rays.

•George Karl will skip the last three games on the Denver Nuggets’ road trip as he adjusts to a feeding tube that was placed into his stomach as part of his cancer treatment. The Nuggets coach has already missed two games since being diagnosed with neck and throat cancer last month. He is undergoing a treatment program of radiation and chemotherapy.

Fired Auburn fired men’s basketball coach Jeff Lebo after his fourth losing season in six years with the Tigers. He went 96-93 overall and 35-61 in Southeastern Conference play.
