Hitmen unleash 7-goal barrage
CALGARY, Alberta – Misha Fisenko had two goals and one assist while goalie Martin Jones stopped all 26 shots he faced Friday night as the Calgary Hitmen trounced the Tri-City Americans 7-0 in Game 1 of the Western Hockey League finals.
Matt MacKenzie scored twice for the Hitmen, while Brandon Kozun finished with a goal and an assist. Cody Sylvester also scored.
After being named the Canadian Hockey League Goaltender of the Week on Wednesday, Tri-City netminder Drew Owsley had a rough outing against Calgary as he gave up four goals on nine shots by the 10:52 mark of the first period. Alexander Pechurskiy replaced Owsley and made 11 saves the rest of the way.
Game 2 is tonight in Calgary.
