Monarch post office celebrating stamp

MONARCH, Mont. – The post office in the tiny western Montana town of Monarch is celebrating today’s release of the monarch butterfly stamp with a special event.
Monarch Postmaster Kally Permann said a Monarch, Mont., pictorial postmark and souvenir cachet envelope will be available at the event in the mountain town.
The 64-cent stamp is being issued for use on large-sized greeting cards that require additional postage.
Montana artist Dave Dube, of Helena, designed the postmark.
