Pedestrian hit by car

Driver not at fault

A pedestrian crossing Division near Wedgewood was struck by a car Friday evening when he stepped into traffic, according to a Washington State Patrol press release. The man, identified as 52-year-old Raymond P. Woods, of Spokane, was hit in the northbound lanes by a car driven by 18-year-old Chattaroy resident Tyler N. Trautman, the WSP said. Woods was heading west on Wedgewood when he tried to cross the highway. It is believed that Woods was under the influence of alcohol and no charges were filed against the driver, the WSP said. Woods was taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
