Rain today will kick off weekend

The weekend will start out rainy, with an 80 percent chance of precipitation today in the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene areas, the National Weather Service says.
The rainfall today could be as much as a quarter of an inch, forecasters said. The high will be around 50.
Showers are likely tonight and into Saturday as well. The Weather Service calls for a high in the mid-50s Saturday, then dropping to around the freezing level Saturday night.
Sunday’s weather will be partly sunny with a high near 50 in Spokane, 48 in Coeur d’Alene.
Snow may fall in the area Monday before 11 a.m., according to today’s forecast. Drier weather is expected after Monday, but the cool temperatures will persist.
