Post Falls wins third straight at Wild West

The Post Falls Trojans made it three in a row at the Wild West Shootout at Reno, Nev.

Luke Thoreson led three players in double figures with 16 points as the Trojans beat Galena 47-31 Friday for their straight win in a tournament featuring top teams from California, Washington and Nevada.

Michael Hillman scored 14 points and Marcus Colbert chipped in 10 for Post Falls (5-0), which outscored Galena 17-8 in the third quarter to take a commanding lead.

Lincoln 43, Coeur d’Alene 40: The Abes hit a 3-pointer with 14 seconds left to beat the Vikings (2-2) at Tacoma. Ty Higbie had 16 points and Deon Watson added 12 to lead Coeur d’Alene.

Clarkston 56, Lake City 53: Drew Adams scored 22 points to lead the Bantams (6-1) past the visiting Timberwolves (3-3). Kyle Guice had 14 points and 14 rebounds for Lake City.

Sandpoint 53, Bonners Ferry 49 (OT): Jackson Olin scored 21 points and the Bulldogs (3-5) slid past the visiting Badgers (2-4) in overtime. Alex Awbrey had 14 points and Cameron Fitch added 10 for Bonners Ferry.

Freeman 60, Deer Park 35: Derek Harter led four players in double figures with 18 points as the Scotties (3-4) routed the host Stags (4-1). Uconn Peone paced Deer Park with 17 points.

Medical Lake 48, Colville 32: Kendyl Dunn had 24 points, eight rebounds and five assists to lead the Cardinals (3-5) past the visiting Indians (5-3). Matt Hubbard led Colville with 16 points.

Priest River 70, Clark Fork 26: Cole Stelow had 15 points and nine rebounds as the Spartans (2-5) routed the Wampus Cats (1-4) at the Priest River Christmas Tournament. The Spartans play in the title game today against Newport. The Wampus Cats take on Orofino.

Newport 63, Orofino 35: Jeron Konkright and Jake Wiley scored 20 points apiece as the Grizzlies (5-1) came alive in the second half and routed the Maniacs at the Priest River tournament.

Lake Roosevelt 59, Omak 49: Keith Rosenbaum scored 24 points and Ty Egbert added 18 points and 10 rebounds as the Raiders beat the Pioneers at the Raider Holiday Classic at Coulee Dam. Lake Roosevelt will play Wellpinit today in the title game.

Wellpinit 81, Bridgeport 15: Greg Wynecoop did just about everything as the Redskins (4-2) completely dismantled the Mustangs at the Raider Holiday Classic. Wynecoop had 14 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists for Wellpinit.

Wilbur-Creston 46, Republic 35: Colton Magers scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Wildcats (4-0) never trailed in a win over the visiting Tigers (1-6). Dan Slagle had 15 points and 14 boards for Republic.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 74, Okanogan 57: Derek Isaak’s triple-double powered the Warriors (4-0) past the visiting Bulldogs, a 1A team that was undefeated entering the game. Isaak finished with 29 points and 11-of-18 shooting and added 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

Odessa-Harrington 64, Cusick 51: Cade Weber led four players in double figures with 18 points as the Titans (3-3) beat the visiting Panthers (3-4). Alec Bluff had 21 points and Ryan Sample added 16 for Cusick.

St. Michael’s 56, Inchelium 35: Trailing 24-20 at the half, the Warriors (3-3) came on strong in the second half for the win over the host Hornets (0-6).

North Star League

Wallace 53, Mullan 27: Casey McKinnon scored 13 points and Andrew Brackebusch added 11 as the Miners (3-2, 1-0) built a 10-point first-quarter lead and cruised past the visiting Tigers (0-4, 0-2). Brandon Martin led Mullan with 10 points.

Bi-County League 2B

Northwest Christian 65, Reardan 24: Dakota Winward scored 17 points and Reuben Clark added 13 points and 13 rebounds as the Crusaders (7-0, 4-0) routed the visiting Indians (1-3, 1-2). Roy Walser tallied a team-high 14 points for Reardan.

St. George’s 56, Liberty 42: Erik Muelheims had 19 points and five rebounds to lead the Dragons (3-1, 1-0) past the visiting Lancers (2-4, 1-3). Zack Kunkel tossed in 19 points for the Lancers.

Colfax 62, Kettle Falls 27: Justin Berarducci had 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead Colfax (4-0, 2-0) to a rout of visiting Kettle Falls (1-5, 0-4). Kyle Johnson added 14 points for Colfax.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 53, Springdale 40: The Broncos (3-4, 1-3) built a comfortable first-half lead and cruised past the host Chargers (3-2, 1-2). Colby Starring led a balanced Lind-Ritzville/Sprague attack with 10 points. Deylin Peone scored 19 points for Springdale.

Panorama League

Northport 61, Columbia 44: Dalton Burke made six 3-pointers and finished with a career-high 23 points as the Mustangs (7-1, 4-0) beat the host Lions (1-5, 1-3) in Hunters. Dustin Wyborney had 15 points and Dominick Marquez added 11 for Columbia.

Selkirk 51, Curlew 39: Avery Miller scored 16 points and Matt Emerson grabbed 14 rebounds as the Rangers’ strong start propelled them past the host Cougars (1-6, 0-3). Selkirk (3-5, 3-1) led 27-15 at halftime.

Pomeroy 69, LaCrosse-Washtucna 60: The Pirates (2-4, 1-2) went on a 19-9 run in the second half and beat the host Tigercats (2-3, 1-2). Jed Zimmer scored 17 points and Darcy Stamper added 15 for LaCrosse-Washtucna.

Southeast 1B League

St. John-Endicott 58, Garfield-Palouse 49: The Eagles (4-1, 3-0) gained control in the second half and beat the visiting Vikings (1-6, 1-2). Cole McCanna had 21 points and Joey Kucklick and Dakota White added 11 points apiece for St. John-Endicott.

Rosalia 61, Tekoa-Oakesdale 40: Craig Nelson scored 16 points to lead the Spartans (4-1, 3-0) past the visiting Nighthawks (0-6, 0-3). Max Mueller led Tekoa-Oakesdale with 16 points.

Colton 72, Touchet 37: Dustin Patchen scored 27 points and Jake Straughan added 21 as the Wildcats (5-0, 4-0) routed the host Indians (2-3, 0-3).
