New Faces

Jim Glendenning and Courtney Hanks have been hired as managing brokers for Professional Realty Services of Washington’s Spokane office. The company also hired Ramona Peacock-Bowman to work within the Spokane and Tri-Cities areas.

Century West Engineering Inc. has hired Dave Wall as a licensed Professional Engineer for the Spokane office. He has 25 years of utility, roadway and drainage design experience. The company also hired Jesse Brehmeyer and Chris Westerman as registered Engineers-in-Training and staff engineers. Brehmeyer has six years of residential and commercial design experience and two years of computer-aided drafting experience. Westerman previously worked for the City of Spokane as a storm water coordinator.

Promotions

Trish Buzan has been promoted to senior associate by NAC/Architecture. She has been with the company since 1990. The firm also promoted Brooke Hanley and Kelly Gordon to associates. Hanley and Gordon joined the company in 2005.

New Position

The College of Arts, Letters and Education at Eastern Washington University has named Christine Valeo chair of the Department of Education. She most recently served as an associate professor of English at EWU and is a graduate of Brown University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Kudos

Steve and Janet Funk of Coeur d’Alene received the “2011 Western Regional Outstanding Tree Farmer of the Year” award from the American Forest Foundation’s American Tree Farm System program. The Funks have been certified tree farm members of the Idaho Tree Farm Program since 1974.

Avatar International Inc. has awarded Kootenai Health with an Exceeding Patient Expectations Award for service excellence for the 10th consecutive year. The health organization was also designated as a Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center for the second time.

AAA Washington awarded the following local repair shops with AAA Top Shop Awards for their commitment to excellence in customer service and repair: Spokane – Bob’s Service Center; Spokane Valley – Auto Craft and Walker’s Automotive; Coeur d’Alene – Silverlake Tire and Auto, and Parker Toyota.

Elected

Greg Bever has been elected to AAA Washington’s Board of Trustees. Bever is publisher of the Journal of Business in Spokane.

Appointed

Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) Spokane Center appointed Joanna Moznette as manager. She holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial/organizational psychology with a minor in Human Resource management from Central Washington University and a master’s degree in public administration from Eastern Washington University.
