Former Zag Gray signs with Latvian team

Steven Gray, who graduated from Gonzaga University in the spring, signed a professional basketball contract with BK Ventspils of Latvia, GU announced Tuesday. Gray, a two-time West Coast Conference first-team pick, averaged 13.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 34 games as a senior last season. He is fifth on the Bulldogs’ all-time list for steals with 155 and seventh all-time in assists with 339. BK Ventspils went 22-6 and won the Latvian Basketball League last season. The team will also be one of 32 teams that will play in the Eurocup regular season.
