Health advisory lifted for Hayden Lake
The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality and Panhandle Health District have lifted a health advisory issued last week for Hayden Lake after high concentrations of blue-green algae were found.
DEQ officials have monitored Hayden Lake since the advisory was issued and said the algae is no longer a concern, a news release from the health district said.
Hayden Lake is safe for fishing, swimming and domestic water supply use with the appropriate water treatment technology, the release said.
High concentrations of blue-green algae can produce toxins harmful to people and animals.
