WASHOUGAL, Wash. — Police say the bestselling author of “Fight Club,” Chuck Palahniuk, sustained minor injuries after a semitrailer rolled over and crashed into his car.

Palahniuk told officers he had a sore neck, but he was not taken to a hospital after the crash near Washougal, Wash., a suburb of Portland.

Washington State Patrol officials say Palahniuk was parked in a driveway next to a state highway when the driver of a tractor-trailer lost control.

The trailer tipped over, slid toward the car and struck the side.

KGW-TV reported that the car was a total loss.

The driver of the semitrailer was not injured.

The truck driver was cited for speeding.
