In brief: ‘Health Care Movie’ airing at St. John’s Cathedral

ROCKWOOD – Members of the community are invited to see “The Health Care Movie” on Monday at St. John’s Cathedral, 127 E. 12th Ave., beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The movie is narrated by Kiefer Sutherland, whose grandfather Tommy Douglas helped create the Canadian health care system.

A presentation about other health care systems and improving health care in the United States will be given by Dan Schaffer, formerly with Group Health. Schaffer will also answer questions by audience members.

Theater features 10 plays

EMERSON/GARFIELD – The Corbin Players will feature “A Potpourri of Plays” on Friday at 2 p.m. at the Corbin Senior Center, 827 W. Cleveland Ave. 

The production consists of 10 short readers-theater plays. Visitors can enjoy complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres during intermission.
