A strong start to the Southeastern Conference season is on the line as No. 21 Texas A&M travels to Columbia to play No. 9 South Carolina tonight ( 3 p.m., SEC Network). The Gamecocks were picked this summer as favorites to win the SEC’s Eastern Division and nothing would mark them as a title contender than a victory over A&M, which has gone 10-6 its first two conference seasons. However, the Aggies are seeking to open SEC play 1-0 for the first time in three years since joining the league. South Carolina enters on a record run of 18 straight home wins, the longest current streak in the country. – Associated Press
