Vaughn’s quad-double sparks Tigers

The result was typical for the undefeated Republic girls, but Demi Jo Vaughn’s stat line is something you don’t see every day.

Vaughn, a junior, posted a quadruple-double (10 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists and 10 steals) and the Tigers surged after a sluggish start and routed Cusick 75-49 in a Northeast 1B North League game Saturday in Republic.

The Tigers (8-0, 5-0) fell behind 15-6 in the first quarter.

Shania Graham added 18 points and 10 rebounds and Sierra McQuay chipped in 15 points and nine boards for Republic.

Rachel Wynne tallied a game-high 20 points for Cusick (0-5, 0-3).

Northeast 2B North

Wilbur-Creston 47, Kettle Falls 39: Emily Starzman had 13 points and seven rebounds and Ireland Corrigan added 12 points and eight boards as the Wildcats (3-5, 1-4) topped the Bulldogs (4-5, 1-4) in Creston. Makayla Hall led Kettle Falls with 11 points.

Northwest Christian 60, Davenport 37: Mackenzi Gray had 16 points and eight rebounds and Courtney Gray added 15 points and eight boards as the Crusaders (7-1, 5-0) eased past the visiting Gorillas (2-5, 1-4). Sydney Abbott led Davenport with 18 points and seven rebounds.

Reardan 39, Springdale 23: Kamille Langford scored 17 points and the Indians (5-1, 4-1) opened the game on a 22-7 run and beat the host Chargers (5-4, 1-4). Maddie Johnson chipped in 11 points for Reardan.

Northeast 2B South

Colfax 52, Tekoa-Rosalia 23: The Bulldogs (5-2, 4-0) forced 30 turnovers while committing only nine in an easy win over the Timberwolves (4-3, 1-3) in Rosalia. Olivia Pakootas tallied a team-high 10 points for Tekoa-Rosalia.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 52, St. George’s 37: The Broncos (6-1, 3-1) surged ahead in the second half and beat the Dragons (4-4, 1-3) in Ritzville. LRS, which trailed by six at the half, got 13 points from Tessa Jantz. Ceci Bergquist tallied a game-high 15 points for St. George’s.

Northeast 1B North

Inchelium 45, Curlew 39: Randi Finley made four 3s and scored 16 points as the Hornets (4-2, 3-2) defeated the host Cougars (3-4, 3-2). Olivia Williams also had 16 points for Inchelium, which outscored Curlew 22-16 in the second half. Curlew’s Kayleona Fanning and Haleigh Gibson combined for 31 points.

Selkirk 55, Northport 27: Hannah Rick scored 17 points and Gabi Rick added 14 as the Rangers (2-3, 2-1) dumped the host Mustangs (0-6, 0-4). Northport’s Ashtyn Baribault posted a team-high 10 points.

Northeast 1B South

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 56, Wellpinit 51: Berlyn Hunt scored a game-high 19 points and the Warriors (6-1, 4-0) beat the Redskins (5-2, 3-1) in Coulee City. Brenna Oliver adedd 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Warriors. Andrea Colvin led Wellpinit with 16 points.

Nonleague

Lake City 56, Timberline 28: Keara Simpson scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds and the Timberwolves (9-1) dominated early before letting up late in an easy win over the Wolves in Boise.

Coeur d’Alene 45, Flathead 33: Emily Callahan made four 3s and scored 14 points and Madisen Scholwinski added 10 points and six rebounds as the Vikings (7-3) defeated the Braves in Kalispell, Montana.

Sandpoint 48, West Valley 46: The Eagles (2-4) rallied in the final quarter but fell short in a loss to the host Bulldogs (7-4). Madi Schoening led Sandpoint with 21 points and three steals. West Valley’s Erin Higbie led all scorers with 24 points.

Kellogg 54, Deer Park 27: Janet Lo scored 16 points and Marley Chambers added 11 as the Wildcats routed the visiting Stags (0-8). Damaris Guske led Deer Park with 13 points.

Liberty 44, St. Maries 39: Christine Denny scored 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the host Lancers to victory. Kelsey Auer had 10 points and 12 boards for St. Maries (0-5).

Coeur d’Alene Charter 47, Valley Christian 25: Jacklyn Jensen had 11 points, 13 rebounds and seven blocks and Coeur d’Alene Charter (5-1) topped visiting Valley Christian (2-6).
