Montreal prepares for potential problems in playoff rivalry

With tensions already running high between the Canadiens and the Boston Bruins, Montreal officials say they’re staying vigilant to ensure the passion doesn’t get destructive. The city has a reputation during recent NHL playoff runs for its spontaneous celebrations that occasionally deteriorate into rampages of vandalism and violence. Authorities say they’re ready for anything, with the series tied 1-1 heading back to Montreal on Tuesday. “We are concerned … but we are working with the police and we have a plan,” said Anie Simpson, the city council member in charge of public security. “We are ready and we hope it’s going to work.” – AP
