Girls basketball roundup: Abbott scores 24, helps keep Davenport undefeated

Sydney Abbott hit four first-half 3-pointers and finished with 24 points as Davenport used a hot start to get past Almira/Coulee-Hartline 63-49 in a nonleague game Tuesday in Davenport.

Meika Heath added 17 points for the Gorillas (7-0), which outscored the Warriors 28-13 in the first quarter.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline (4-1) got 10 points from Berlyn Hunt.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 44, Freeman 42: Tessa Jantz scored 18 points and Sydney Zimer added 11 as the Broncos (3-3) edged the Scotties (3-4) in Ritzville. Sydney Sather and Isabelle Miller combined for 21 for Freeman.

Colfax 43, Dayton 24: Piper Cai scored 12 points and Colfax (4-3) forced 18 first-half turnovers in a win over visiting Dayton. Ashtyn Aune added six rebounds, five assists and three steals for Colfax.

Wallace 49, Orofino 47: Maryssa Hogamier poured in 26 points and hit two free throws with 3 seconds left to send the Miners past the visiting Maniacs. Hogamier made six 3-pointers and connected on 4 of 5 free throws. Mayra Rodriquez led Orofino with 23 points.

Northeast 2B North

Northwest Christian 54, Wilbur-Creston 38: Rachel Bozlee made four 3-pointers and scored 18 points and Steffanie Kiourkas added three 3’s and 17 points as the Crusaders (6-2, 4-1) got out to a quick start and beat the host Wildcats (4-4, 2-4). Karlee Maioho led Wilbur-Creston with 13 points.

Springdale 48, Kettle Falls 46: Dilish Smith hit a pair of free throws late to give the Chargers (3-4, 2-3) a win over the visiting Bulldogs (3-5, 1-3). Nichole Beckman scored 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Springdale. Kettle Falls’ was led by Makayla Hall’s 12 points.

Southeast 1B

Colton 74, Garfield-Palouse 23: Zoe Moser had 19 points and nine assists and the Wildcats (7-0, 5-0) extended their winning streak to 78 games with a victory over the visiting Vikings (2-6, 1-3). MaryAnn Jacobs also had 19 points for Colton, which led 41-10 at halftime. Moser, Jacobs and Dakota Patchen hit five 3-pointers apiece for the Wildcats. Payson Griner led Garfield-Palouse with 12 points and three assists.

Liberty Christian 56, St. John-Endicott 52: Bella Loera scored 20 points and 9-of-19 shooting and the Patriots used a 19-6 fourth-quarter run to come back and beat the Eagles (4-3, 2-2) in Richland. Karlee Souze added 17 points on 9-of-13 shooting for Liberty Christian. Abby Glorfield had 14 points, nine rebounds, eight steals and five assists for St. John-Endicott.

Oakesdale 63, LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 29: Anne Hockett had 16 points and six rebounds and the Nighthawks (5-3, 1-2) topped the visiting Tigercats (1-5, 0-4). Oakesdale’s Jacey Johnson added 14 points and Logan Reed chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds. Jazzmyn Gordon led LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus with 11 points.
