Bo Barnes scored 18 points, including a key 3-pointer late in the second half, and Arizona State pulled off a second straight home upset over its rival by holding off No. 6 Arizona 81-78 on Saturday in Tempe, Arizona.

Arizona State shook off a lopsided loss to Arizona a month earlier by out-scrapping the Wildcats and playing a solid offensive game against one of the nation’s best defensive teams.

The Sun Devils hit 7 of 15 from 3-point range and made 22 of 28 free throws, including some big ones down the stretch, to set off a court-storming in Tempe for the second straight season.

Savon Goodman had 15 points and nine rebounds for Arizona State. Tra Holder added 15 points and eight assists.

Arizona was inconsistent offensively and struggled to keep the Sun Devils from getting to the basket.

T.J. McConnell had 25 points and Stanley Johnson added 16 for the Wildcats.

(13) Utah 79, Colorado 51: Brandon Taylor scored 18 points, including a career-best six 3-pointers, and the Utes routed the cold-shooting Buffaloes in Boulder, Colorado.

Jordan Loveridge added 11 points and 10 rebounds for Utah, which has put together back-to-back wins since losing at UCLA.

The Utes’ first win at the Coors Events Center since the schools joined the Pac-12 Conference three years ago completed a season sweep of Colorado. The Buffaloes lost the first meeting at Utah 74-49 on Jan. 7.

Josh Scott, who missed the last seven games and eight of the past nine with a back injury, had 10 points for Colorado in his return.

But the Buffaloes missed leading scorer Askia Booker, who was sidelined by a hip pointer.

California 64, UCLA 62: Dwight Tarwater made a 3-pointer with 18.9 seconds remaining and California beat the Bruins in Berkeley, California, for the Golden Bears’ third consecutive win in the final moments.

Jabari Bird made two late, critical 3-pointers and scored 16 points for the Golden Bears. Sam Singer added 13 points off the bench while Tyrone Wallace had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

California trailed 62-58 with 1:30 remaining before closing the game with back-to-back 3s by Bird and Tarwater.

The Bruins had a final chance to win but Bryce Alford’s deep 3-pointer hit the back of the rim.
