Resigned Hall of Famer Dick LeBeau has resigned as the defensive coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 77-year-old LeBeau had been with the organization for 16 seasons, including serving as defensive coordinator from 1995-96 and from 2004-14. He was also the team’s secondary coach from 1992-94. He was inducted into Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010. In his 13 years as defensive coordinator, the Steelers have finished in the top five in total defense 11 times and five times the team had the top overall ranked defense. The team won seven division championships, four AFC championships and two Super Bowls, while making the playoffs nine times during that period.

Traded The Oakland Athletics acquired infielders Ben Zobrist and Yunel Escobar from the Tampa Bay Rays for catcher John Jaso and two minor leaguers in a trade between teams that have been very busy this offseason. The Rays also got infielder Daniel Robertson, outfielder Boog Powell and cash in this trade. The 33-year-old Zobrist is a two-time All-Star and helped the Rays make the playoffs four of the past seven seasons, including an improbable run to the World Series in 2008.

Arrested Police in Orlando, Florida, say New York Jets running back Chris Johnson has been arrested and faces a misdemeanor weapons charge. Sgt. Wanda Ford said an officer pulled Johnson over after he ran a stop sign Friday night. When the officer approached Johnson’s vehicle, he said he saw a firearm between Johnson’s feet. Openly carrying a gun is generally banned in Florida. The Jets signed Johnson to a two-year, $8 million deal last April, but it was uncertain as to whether he would return to New York after having the least-productive year of his career.

Recovered United States skiier Bode Miller should return from back surgery to Alpine skiing’s World Cup circuit on Tuesday, just three weeks before the world championships. United States men’s head coach Sasha Rearick says Miller is scheduled for an official downhill training run at Wengen, Switzerland. Miller underwent surgery in November to repair a herniated disk yet is targeting the worlds at Beaver Creek, Colorado, where he has won two World Cup downhills.

Signed Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has finally signed his Major League Soccer contract to play for New York City FC. NYCFC confirmed that this week Lampard signed a contract to start in July, midway through the new team’s first season in MLS.
