Spokane native Tyler Johnson is an NHL All-Star for the first time.

Johnson, 24, a Central Valley High School graduate and former Spokane Chief who was an undrafted free agent four years ago, is tied for fifth in the NHL for points (45) and tied for first in plus-minus (plus-26).

He has 17 goals and a team-high 28 assists.

He made his NHL debut late in 2012-13 and was named to the All-Rookie team last season.

The All-Star game will be played Jan. 25 in Columbus, Ohio.
