New WSU assistants will make more than predecessors
PULLMAN – Washington State’s budget for assistant football coaches increased significantly for the second consecutive season because of two new coaches who will each make more than their predecessors.
New defensive coordinator Alex Grinch will make slightly more than $425,000 next year and Roy Manning, the new outside linebackers coach, will make about $236,500. Former defensive coordinator Mike Breske’s final annual salary at WSU was $376,500 while former outside linebackers coach Paul Volero made $181,500.
Prior to the 2014 football season, WSU’s assistants received $500,000 in total raises and head coach Mike Leach also received a $500,000 pay bump.
