Rosters announced for Idaho all-star games

Players have been selected for the 12th annual Idaho State High School boys and girls all-star games.

The doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday at North Idaho College. The girls tip off at 1 p.m. followed by the boys at 3:30.

The games are a North vs. South format. The North team includes players from Districts I and II. The South team includes players from District III (Boise area) and Districts IV, V and VI.

Players were chosen by a committee of sportswriters and broadcasters statewide.

Here are the players named to the North boys team: Colby Daniels and Tony Naccarato of Coeur d’Alene; Michael Wilson of Grangeville; Nick Hancock and Joe Pasquale of Lake City; Gus Colburn of Kellogg; Tyrel Derrick and Jay Plunkett of Lakeland; Dalton Thompson of Post Falls; Jack Akey of Moscow; Lucas Arnzen of Prairie; and Logan Feasline of St. Maries. Alternates are Tucker Gust of Kellogg and TJ Placencio of Mullan. Dave Stockwell of Lakeland is the coach.

Here are the players named to the North girls team: Anna Verhaeghe of Coeur d’Alene Charter; Kaidan Kelsey of Lakeland; Natalie Wheelock and Clarissa Smith of Lake City; Marquel Shawl of Lapwai; Emilee Schlader, Cali Moscrip and Lynzee Wilson of Lewiston; Sam Runkle and Shayna Allert of Post Falls; Katlyn Summers of Priest River; and Elani Williams of Sandpoint. Savannah Woods of Bonners Ferry and Sydney Kuther of Nezperce are alternates. Duane Ward of Sandpoint is the coach.

Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens.

• The 2015 WIBCA All-State games will be Saturday at Eastside Catholic High School in Sammamish, Washington.

There will be three games: 1B vs. 2B at 2; 1A vs. 2A at 4; and 3A vs. 4A at 6.

Here are the area players selected for the games: 1B – Tyler Thurman of Garfield-Palouse; Alec Bluff of Cusick; and Mitch Jamison of Gar-Pal; 2B – Kasey Johnson of Colfax; Clay Fleming of Liberty; 1A – Tyler Axtell of Riverside; 3A – Melik Hampton of Rogers; 4A – Michael Hannan of Central Valley.

Clarkston coach Justin Jones, whose Bantams captured the State 2A title last weekend, has been named the 2A coach of the year.
