Labrador joins Rand Paul’s campaign team
Republican Rand Paul’s 2016 presidential campaign on Wednesday named Idaho Rep. Raul Labrador its “western states co-chairman,” and Labrador began campaigning for Paul in a series of radio and TV interviews in Idaho.
Labrador told an Idaho Falls radio station, “I think Rand Paul is the one who has the best opportunity to bring the Republican conservative perspective to new people.”
Both men are tea party favorites; Labrador is a third-term congressman representing Idaho’s 1st Congressional District, an immigration attorney, and a former Idaho state representative.
Paul, a senator from Kentucky and an opthamologist, is among an array of candidates for the GOP presidential nomination. He announced his candidacy April 7.
