Chad White swaps San Diego for Spokane
Spokane native Chad White is slated to appear on the next season of Bravo’s “Top Chef.”
Shortly after the two-day premiere, he plans to move back to Spokane and open a restaurant. Native Provisions - “where borderless flavor meets the Inland Northwest,” according to its website - is expected to open in spring 2016.
White made the announcement via Twitter over the weekend.
Meantime, the series, dubbed “Top Chef California,” takes a road trip through the Golden State, with stops in Palm Springs, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and San Diego.
The two-night premiere of the competition culinary show’s 13 th season airs at 10 p.m. Dec. 2 and 3.
White owns two restaurants in San Diego - Común Taqueria and Craft Pizza Company – and one in Tijuana, Mexico: La Justina. The 32-year-old chef lives in both places, according to his BravoTV.com bio, which also describes his specialty as “eclectic urban style and Baja influenced food.”
According to Eater San Diego , Común is closing.
If you’re in San Diego in early December, White’s having a goodbye party from 7 to 10 p.m. Dec. 3 at Carnitas Snack Shack .
