Wyoming football game at Idaho in 2018 dropped
Thu., Aug. 4, 2016
LARAMIE, Wyo. – Wyoming will not make a scheduled road trip to Idaho in 2018 because Idaho is dropping out of the Football Bowl Subdivision.
Idaho athletics director Rob Spear tells the Casper Star-Tribune that the Vandals are transitioning to the lower Football Championship Subdivision.
Spear says the scheduled 2019 game between Wyoming and Idaho in Laramie will probably still take place.
The Wyoming athletic department confirmed Spear’s remarks about both games.
Wyoming’s 2018 nonconference schedule still includes games at home against Washington State and FCS Wofford and at Missouri.
In 2019, the Cowboys will also host Missouri and play at Texas State and Tulsa before beginning conference play, meaning Idaho would be their only FCS opponent.
