Four Corners: Battle for basement Saturday in Pullman
Wed., Feb. 3, 2016
Coming up: Saturday vs. Arizona State, 3:30 p.m. (Pac-12)
Outlook: Washington State’s best chance of moving up in the Pac-12 standings comes on Saturday against Arizona State. While the Cougars could not pick up the win in Tempe, they have the talent and experience to compete with the Sun Devils. WSU needs a win for its mental health right now, and to show the younger players that their hard work will eventually pay dividends. But most critically, a win for the 12th-place Cougars also hands the 11th-place Sun Devils a loss, making the chances of WSU getting an easier Pac-12 tournament seed much more likely than if the Cougars lose on Saturday.
WSU leaders:
Scoring: Josh Hawkinson 16.0 ppg
Rebounding: Josh Hawkinson 10.7 rbg
Assists: Ike Iroegbu 3.9 apg
