Fresh Sheet: Learn to make lefse
Make lefse and learn about life on Quillisascut Farm during Sunday’s Let’s Make Lefse workshop.
The session runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants can help make the thin, traditional, Norwegian potato flatbread as well as visit with the goats and chickens, sample cheese, harvest leeks and walnuts, and – at the end of the afternoon – taste lefse. The workshop costs $25 per person.

Epicurean Delight
About 1,000 foodies are expected to attend Friday’s Epicurean Delight dinner.
The annual fundraiser and culinary awards is from 5:30 p.m. to midnight at the Spokane Convention Center, 334 W. Spokane Falls Blvd. It’s sold out.
Participating restaurants include 1898 Public House, the Blackbird, Beverly’s, Downriver Grill, the Flying Goat, Gilded Unicorn, Masselow’s, Republic Pi, Taste of India, Timber Gastro Pub and Zona Blanca.
Awards will be presented for outstanding hors d’oeuvres, first course, entrée and dessert, plus people’s choice awards for best restaurant and best libation.

Selectable Delectables
Master Chef Steve Geving’s next Selectable Delectables cooking class features shrimp bisque, Burgundy beef and a caramel crepe tower with Chantilly cream sauce.
The bisque is baked with cognac in a puff pastry dome. The beef dish includes root veggies and a potato crust.
The class is $25 per person and runs from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Blanchard Community Center, 685 Rusho Lane, in Blanchard, Idaho.

Free lunch or dinner
Veterans can dine for free Friday at Ivar’s seafood restaurants.
In honor of Veteran’s Day, the regional chain is offering free lunch or dinner during normal business hours to those who have served or are serving in the U.S. military. Veterans and active-duty military members must show proof of service to receive the complimentary meal. The limit is one per person, but no purchase is required. Stadium locations aren’t participating in the offer. The only Ivar’s in the Spokane area is located in the food court of the Spokane Valley Mall.
