Powder drinkers
The thermometer may say 60 degrees, but the calendar confirms that it’s time for another PowderKeg winter beer festival.
The annual event, in conjunction with the Snowlander Expo on Friday and Saturday at the Spokane Convention Center, features two offerings each from 22 breweries and cideries including an array of winter seasonals.
Look for 10 Barrel’s Pray For Snow (7.5 percent alcohol by volume, 75 International Bitterness Units), Bale Breaker’s High Camp Winter Warmer (8.4, 73), both Wassail (7.2, 56) and Wreck the Halls (6.5, 68) from Full Sail, Orlison’s Snowplough Chocolate Stout (8, 45), River City’s Midnight Marmot Imperial Stout (9, 78), Ten Pin’s Red ToBOCKan (6.6, 22), Waddell’s Lost Woods (8, 45) and Worthy’s Powder Keg (7.1, 65).
The complete beer lineup also includes:

Badass Backyard: Daring Diva Raspberry Wheat (6, 24), Big Air Black Stout (7, 53).
Bale Breaker: Bottom Cutter imperial IPA (8.2, 100).
Grand Teton: Bitch Creek ESB (6, 60), Pursuit of Hoppiness imperial red (8.5, 100).
Icicle: Pale Ale (5, 38), Dark Persuasion (6.5, 22).
Lagunitas: IPA (6.2, 52), Lucky 13 imperial red (8.8, 51).
No-Li: Red, White & No-Li pale (6.1, 35), Born & Raised IPA (7, 85).
Northern Ales: Okanogan Highlander (6, 20), Smoked NorthPorter (6, 32).

There also will be ciders from North Idaho Cider, One Tree, Snowdrift, Summit and Twilight, plus food for sale and live music.
A variety of tasting packages including both samples and full pints are available in addition to the $8 Expo admission. PowderKeg hours are Friday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
