Colfax, Oakesdale each ranked No. 1 in state volleyball polls

Defending State 2B champion Colfax and defending State 1B champion Oakesdale are the lone area volleyball teams ranked No. 1 in the polls released Monday by the Washington State Volleyball Coaches Assocation.

Colfax is joined in the rankings by Wilbur-Creston (sixth), Liberty (seventh) and Davenport (ninth).

Three other area 1B teams are ranked. They are Colton (fourth), Almira/Coulee-Hartline (fifth) and Odessa-Harrington (ninth).

Mead is ranked third in 4A. Undefeated West Valley of Yakima, which defended its title at the Linda Sheridan Classic last Saturday, is No. 1 followed by Auburn Riverside.

Gonzaga Prep is ranked seventh.

In 3A, Mt. Spokane is ninth and Mercer Island is No. 1.

In 1A, Lakeside is fifth and Freeman is sixth. Cascade of Leavenworth is No. 1.

No area teams are ranked in 2A. Tumwater is ranked No. 1.
