Police recover 2 replica artifacts stolen from Idaho museum
TWIN FALLS, Idaho – Idaho police say they have recovered two of five replica Clovis Point artifacts stolen from a museum.
The Times-News reported that police also say they have identified a suspect who is already in jail on unrelated charges.
Authorities haven’t released the person’s name they believe is involved in an April 6 theft from the Herrett Center museum in Twin Falls.
Officials said a tip led to obtaining search warrants and the recovery on Thursday of two of the replica artifacts.
The five replicas together are valued at $15,000.
The replicas are based on pre-historic artifacts found at a site near Fairfield, north of Twin Falls.
