August Workshops at Emerge - Popping and Locking with Shanner Escalanti: A four part workshop focusing on the basics of popping and hip-hop choreography leading up to a performance during Emerge’s first annual Print-fest on August 12. One Heart Native Arts & Film Festival - Sept. 8-9. Artwork Submissions at Chase Gallery - The Chase Gallery in Spokane City Hall is now accepting portfolios for consideration for the 2018 exhibition schedule. Two dimensional, sculptural, installation, video, audio (artist must supply equipment), traditional, or experimental artworks encouraged. Individual artists, artist teams, or proposals for curated themes are eligible. There will be four, three-month long exhibitions next year with an emphasis on group shows. Designed from the artists’ perspective, My Artrepreneur Program provides artists with a compass for navigating the complicated and often daunting task of building a sustainable life in the arts. Students will receive 40 hours of instruction from Dr. E. L. Kittredge over four weekends from July to October.
