Sandal-wearing wannabe bank robber leaves Hayden bank empty-handed

A sock-and-sandal wearing bank robber left a Hayden-area bank empty-handed Thursday.
Just before 7 p.m. a man described as in his 50s entered a U.S. Bank inside an Albertsons in Hayden, Idaho. The man pointed at the tellers with his hands in the shape of a gun. He then demanded money, according to a Kootenai County Sheriff’s news release.
After briefly speaking with the tellers the man left without any money.
A plea to the public for information about the man resulted in tips that allowed the Sheriff’s Office to identify the suspect Friday morning. The man has been interviewed and was cooperative. After consulting with the prosecuting attorney’s office, no charges will be filed, the Sheriff’s Office said.
