Suspect dies after armed confrontation with police in Kuna

KUNA, Idaho – Idaho State Police are investigating after eight officers fired at and killed a suspect after a confrontation in Kuna.

The Idaho Statesman reported that the suspect, who has not yet been identified, reportedly fired eight to 10 shots at a Kuna police officer who tried to pull him over before fleeing and hiding in a nearby neighborhood, sparking an hourslong search.

Officers searched the neighborhood for about seven hours before ultimately tracking down the suspect, who was armed in another man’s home. Ada County Sheriff’s officials say they tried to call the suspect on his cellphone but he did not answer.

The suspect then tried to flee the home in a stolen vehicle, Eight officers opened fire on the suspect, killing the man.
