Architecture

NAC Architecture has announced the hiring of Landon DeFelice, Andrew Parker, Vitaliy Grechikhin and Don Potts. DeFelice, an architectural designer, is working on Spokane Community College’s Main Building renovation and an elementary school in Quincy, Washington. Parker, also an architectural designer, is working on the builds for a new residence hall at Montana State University and a recreation center in Quincy. Grechikhin, an electrical drafter, is working on SCC’s Main Building renovation and a Spokane Behavioral Health project. Potts works in IT and has previously worked with Microsoft and others in his 15-year career.

Education

The Bachelor of Arts in Health Services Administration with Long-Term Care program at Eastern Washington University has received its program accreditation. Eastern is the first program west of the Mississippi with the accreditation, which is valid for five years.

Four new board members have been selected to the Eastern Washington Universityboard of directors. Alexis Alexander graduated from EWU in 2009 and works at Avista. Claudette Kenmir works as vice president and regional general manager for Physicians Insurance. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance from EWU. Steve Storey graduated from EWU in 1976 and works as senior vice president of commercial lending at Home Street Bank. Brett Wright is senior manager of community engagement and intelligence at Autodesk Inc.

Gonzaga University’s Academic Vice President’s Office recently named The Arc of Spokane its Community Partner of the Year. The award honors an agency that has made a contribution to the university’s service-learning program, developed a service-learning course or project, and expended time and energy helping students in the service-learning environment. The award includes a $500 gift to the volunteer-based nonprofit.

Engineering

Trindera Engineering, an engineering and consulting firm based in Coeur d’Alene, has opened an office in Kennewick. Trindera has recently been working on infrastructure, education and industrial projects in the Tri-Cities. The Tri-Cities location joins Spokane, Coeur d’Alene and Bigfork, Montana.

Health

Rehabilitation Hospital of the Northwest has named Nicole Rostron director of nursing. She most recently was a nurse manager at a rehabilitation hospital in Arizona.

Law

Super Lawyers magazine has named Elizabeth Tellessen a Rising Star and Kenneth Howard a Super Lawyer for 2017. Both work at Winston & Cashatt.

Miscellaneous

Colleen Hennessey has been hired by Empire Unmanned as sales and marketing manager. Empire Unmanned is a division of Empire Airlines in Hayden and provides unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) data capture and processing services.

Nonprofit

Partnering for Progress, a local nonprofit that sends volunteer teams to help with infrastructure in Kenyan villages, has added Amanda Strong, Kendra Edlin and Amber Frohberg to its board of directors. Strong is a program manager at CHAS Health; Edlin is vice president of retail experience at Numerica Credit Union; and Frohberg is a project manager at Strong Technology Consulting Inc..

Community-Minded Enterprises, a Spokane-based nonprofit focused on connecting marginalized communities to services, has been recognized for its innovative and effective workplace practices. The When Work Works award recognizes employers that offer employees job autonomy, a culture of trust and respect, flexible scheduling and transition to parenthood.

Television

David Lockhert has been named general manager of KAYU Fox 28 in Spokane, KFFX Fox 11 in the Tri-Cities, KCYU Fox 41 in Yakima and Telemundo of Central Washington. Lockhert has worked at The Spokesman-Review, TVOntario, in public television and, most recently, at Northwest Broadcasting. He replaces Doug Holroyd, who has been the general manager of the stations since 2012 and is retiring at the end of the month.
