Nonprofit group will hold two-day yard sale of ‘upscale goods’

The Assistants, a local volunteer group, is hosting an “upscale” yard sale on May 19 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and May 20 from 8 a.m. to noon, at 715 E. 25th Ave.

The sale promises quality, gently-used indoor and outdoor furniture, as well as decorative items and women’s and children’s clothing.

Patti Stifter, with the Assistants, said the group has raised between $4,500 and $6,000 from the sale.

“The sale is in addition to many other large and small fundraisers we also do,” Stifter said.

She said the group contributes about $15,000 annually to approximately 15 different nonprofits that support education, art, literature, music and other civic endeavors.

The annual budget doesn’t cover inkind donations like diapers and food donated for food drives, Stifter said.

“This sale is a big part of our fundraising,” Stifter said.
