Prep soccer: Central Valley falls to Glacier Peak in 4A third-place game
Keegan Rubio and Camron Miller scored two goals apiece and Glacier Peak built a 3-0 lead and held on to defeat Central Valley 5-3 in the State 4A third-place game at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup on Saturday.
Rubio scored in the eighth minute to give Glacier Peak a lead it never relinquished. Miller’s first came in the 24th minute unassisted and Danny Guerrero added a goal in the 34th minute for a 3-nil lead at halftime.
Central Valley’s Jake Levine scored four minutes after play resumed and again four minutes later to draw the Bears (16-4) within one. Rubio restored a two-goal lead in the 51st minute and Miller made it 5-2 in the 55th.
Levine added his third of the game in the 72nd minute but CV couldn’t complete a comeback.
