Morning prep roundup: Lindsey Russell’s 42 assists advances No.1 seed Mead to 4A state tournament

Lindsey Russell helped Mead (24-2) sweep visiting Richland (25-17, 25-13, 25-23) in the 4A District 8 championship on Saturday.

Amber Hickman’s two penalty kicks give Mt. Spokane the district’s second seed to state and a matchup against Lakeside on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at Memorial Stadium in Seattle.

Shadle Park’s season was ended at the hands of O’Dea, 49-7.
