Kwame Qadir throws TD pass and Ferris tops North Central

From staff reports

Kwame Qadir threw a second-quarter touchdown pass and Ferris (1-4) topped North Central (1-5) in a nonleague Greater Spokane League matchup on Thursday.

Qadir hooked up with Brock Bozett on a 30-yard scoring strike on the first play of the second stanza, which came on a third-and-28 play.

North Central had forced Ferris to punt on the Saxon’s third possession of the game. But Ferris forced a fumble on the punt play, recovered and returned it to the North Central 12.

The Saxons then went backwards on successive plays. Tom Kirby lost 6 yards on a running play, then Ferris was called for hold which pushed the Saxons back to the 34. A 4-yard run by Bozett set up third and long before Qadir found for Bozett for the score.

Qadir finished 8 of 12 for 119 yards and rushed 18 times for 57 yards. Nate Schlosser carried 17 times for 80 yards while Bozett had five catches for 66 yards and added an interception.

Michael Stacy led North Central on the ground with 51 yards on 11 carries.
