Boys basketball: University tops Central Valley in OT in 4A play-in game

Tanner Christensen scored 28 points, including 12 in overtime, and University (11-10) eliminated Central Valley (10-11) 71-59 in overtime in the 4A district play-in game.

The Titans erupted for 20 points in overtime and held the Bears to eight.

Christensen added 10 rebounds and three blocked shots. Boston Tacke scored 16 points for U-Hi, while Logan Phillips collected 15 points.

Zachary Stocker led Central Valley with 23 points and Jase Edwards added 18 points and 12 rebounds.

University advanced to play at Richland on Wednesday.

Southridge 68, Shadle Park 56: The Suns (7-13) eliminated the Highlanders (6-14) in the 3A District 8 play-in game.

Southridge advanced to play at Rogers on Tuesday in a first-round matchup.
