GSL boys: Gonzaga Prep routs Mead to remain undefeated
Jamaari Jones scored 21 points with 15 rebounds and Gonzaga Prep (18-0, 12-0) routed visiting Mead (3-15, 1-11) 71-35 in Greater Spokane League action on Friday.
Anton Watson added 19 points for the Bullpups, who are rated No. 1 in Class 4A in WIAA’s RPI system.
Mead stayed close early and trailed 11-8 after the first quarter. It was all G-Prep after that.
Jones and Devin Culp scored back-to-back buckets to push the Bullpups’ lead to 17-10. A few moments later, Watson picked up two buckets to make it 29-12.
Gonzaga Prep outscored Mead 21-7 in the second quarter, then used a 24-5 run in the third to put the game away.
Tyson Rogalette led Mead with 14 points.
University 62, Mt. Spokane 61: Logan Phillips scored 20 points, including two late free throws, and the visiting Titans (9-9, 4-8) edged the Wildcats (13-5, 6-4). Tyson Degenhart scored 19 points for Mt. Spokane.
Ferris 85, Rogers 65: Shamrock Campbell scored 30 points and the Saxons (15-3, 9-3) defeated the visiting Pirates (7-11, 3-7).
Damion Carter scored 19 points and Reece Van Lierop added 13 for Ferris, rated No. 6 in Class 4A.
Ferris used a 23-13 run in the second quarter to open up some space.
Calyn Glover led Rogers with 15 points while Tyriq Jacobs added 14 points, Jahil Frans had 11 points and Cole Riblet scored 10 points.
Lewis and Clark 73, Shadle Park 53: Jonny Love scored 19 points, Naje Smith added 16 and the Tigers (12-6, 9-3) downed the visiting Highlanders (6-11, 2-8).
Jake Groves led Shadle Park with 16 points while Adrian Conway had 13 points and Logan Liddicoat added 10.
Central Valley 58, North Central 44: Zachary Stocker scored 23 points and the Bears (10-8, 8-4) beat the visiting Indians (9-10, 2-8). Isaiah Lockett led NC with 13 points.
