Mango Tree plans to put down roots in Coeur d’Alene

A new Indian restaurant is slated to open soon in Coeur d’Alene.

The Mango Tree plans to open in the space that formerly held the Fedora Pub and Grill.

The Roaring ‘20s-themed restaurant recently closed after eight years in business. The Mango Tree Indian Kitchen and Tap House is slated to open in early July, according to its Facebook page. Meantime, its menu is already posted on SkipTheDishes.com.

Appetizers include samosas, pakoras, papadums, chicken wings and more, largely in the $3.95 to $8.95 range. Also on the menu: tandoor specialties such as mango chicken tikka, tandoori chicken, tandoori beef kebab, lamb tikka and more, mostly in the $13.95 to $18.95 range.

Traditional and curry specials include butter chicken and chicken tikka masala as well as chicken beef, pork, lamb, shrimp or fish cooked in a special mango sauce or curry or korma sauces. Look, also, for palak and karahi specials with a choice of meat, fish or shrimp as well as a variety of vegetarian dishes such as palak paneer, mango paneer and chana masala.

Rice dishes include mushroom rice and chicken, beef, pork, lamb, shrimp or veggie biryani. Combinations will also be available. So will a variety of naan. Side orders include raita, mango chutney and cucumber, mango, chickpea or tandoori chicken salad.

The Mango Tree will be at 1726 W. Kathleen Ave.
