Detectives looking for tips on four suspects in Browne’s Addition robbery attempt
Spokane police said Tuesday detectives are searching for four suspects in a robbery attempt in Browne’s Addition.
The perpetrators – three males and a female – confronted two victims at about 3 a.m. March 18 near Poplar Street and First Avenue, Detective Ben Green said in a news release.
Attempting to steal valuables and a backpack, the suspects knocked the victims to the ground and repeatedly punched and kicked them. Green said the victims suffered “significant” injuries but were not hospitalized.
Green said the assailants may drive a silver Kia Sol or a similar vehicle. He described three potential suspects and asked that anyone with knowledge of the incident call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233:
- A white male, possibly 17 or 18 years old, skinny, over 6 feet tall, wearing diamondlike earrings and a White Sox baseball cap.
- A male, possibly Hispanic, with “big, frizzy hair,” wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt with a logo on the front.
- A female, possibly 17 or 18 years old, short, with a medium build, light brown skin and frizzy hair.
Green said he was looking for, but could not confirm, potential links between the robbery attempt and a group of teenagers who were arrested Tuesday afternoon near Wall Street and Second Avenue. Those teens, along with a 20-year-old man, are accused of assaulting two people with a skateboard and brass knuckles.
“I’m looking at that group, but other groups are doing similar-type stuff,” Green said. “We are not connecting them right now.”
