Priest River man sentenced for raping, impregnating 14-year-old girl
A Priest River man accused of raping and impregnating a 14-year-old was sentenced to 30 years in prison Tuesday.
William Scott Wegner is set to serve 15 years for felony rape and another 15 years for felony lewd conduct following his conviction for sexually touching a 5-year-old girl who was a family friend, according to court documents.
Wegner did not show up for his trial in Bonner County on October 31, 2019, and was apprehended in Arizona and returned to Idaho in March.
Wegner’s girlfriend, Sheenagh Elizabeth Adams, was also found guilty of acting as an accessory by willfully withholding, concealing or harboring a felon.
She was sentenced to three years in prison, court documents show.
Adams, 36, allegedly put Wegner up in a motel under a fake name to conceal his molestation. Adams pleaded guilty to the felony endangerment charge while the aiding and abetting charge was dismissed in an agreement with the state, according to court documents.
