Man dies in early morning car crash north of Bowl and Pitcher area

A man was found dead following a car crash on Aubrey White Parkway just after midnight Friday, Spokane police said.

The vehicle involved struck a tree near the parkway’s intersection with West Rifle Club Road, about 2 miles north of the popular Bowl and Pitcher recreation area. The man is believed to have been the driver and sole occupant of the car, according to a police department news release. No other victims were found.

The department’s Major Crimes Traffic Collision Investigation unit is investigating the crash. Police did not identify the man .
