In this 2012 Idaho Press-Tribune file photo, Sen. Bart Davis walks down the stairs to the garden level of the Idaho State Capitol, for a news conference in Boise. Davis and his wife, Marion, know grief, having buried their 23-year-old son. They’ve come to know forgiveness, too. At an April 9 parole hearing, Davis told Idaho's parole commission they wouldn’t oppose the release of the man who killed their boy, Cameron Wade Davis, in March 2003. Though a hearing officer recommended against paroling Craig Olsen so soon, Davis’ words helped tip the balance, clearing the way for the now 32-year-old Olsen to serve the remainder of his 25-year manslaughter sentence on the outside. Story here. (Idaho Press-Tribune file photo: Greg Kreller)
