
Expo butterflies get new wings
A crew from GuildWorks, a Portland firm which specializes in vinyl rain and sun shades, begins the process of installing the coverings on the “wings” of the butterfly sculpture in Riverfront Park, Wednesday, April 24, 2019. The fabric is first attached with temporary plastic ties, then lashed on with rope. When finished, the sculpture, dating back to Expo ’74, will turn with the wind and bounce during gusts.
