Kyle Anderson has worn a Spokane uniform before, but on Tuesday he just wore out the Spokane Indians. Anderson, a 6-foot-2 left-hander, baffled the Indians for six shutout innings as the Vancouver Canadians opened a three-game series at Avista Stadium with a 4-0 decision that ended Spokane’s four-game winning streak.

Center fielder Chris Garia hit two solo homers to right field Sunday afternoon, leading off the bottom of the first inning and with two out in the second, to power the Indians past Boise 8-6 at Avista Stadium.

He hit .304 in 35 games last summer in the Arizona Rookie League. He and his famous family are in town this week, as his Boise Hawks prepare for a five-game series against the Spokane Indians.

Indians still chasing first win

Brazilian Thyago Vieira threw five innings of three-hit shutout ball and Phillips Castillo had a two-run double on Sunday afternoon as the Everett AquaSox completed a three-game sweep of the Spokane Indians at Avista Stadium with a 4-3 decision. Everett outscored Spokane 16-11 during the series, scoring all but three of its runs during the first five innings. The AquaSox led 5-0 on Friday, 6-0 on Saturday and 3-0 on Sunday.
