Washington State looks to see if it can stage repeat of 2013 win at Cal

OAKLAND, Calif. – In front of a meager Berkeley crowd that appeared to consist mostly of the relatives of Washington State football players Rickey Galvin and Kalafitoni Pole, two Bay Area transplants who traded their hometown breeze for Pullman’s harsher yet more defined climes, the Cougars earned their first and only Pac-12 blowout win since 2006. The 44-22 win at Cal in 2013, the second conference win of Mike Leach’s tenure as WSU head coach, seemed like a turning point for his then-nascent program. And for a time, it was.

WSU football: Keith Harrington does whatever it takes to make impact

PULLMAN – Keith Harrington nearly stopped his dad’s heart when he jumped off that ledge. Of course, he only had himself to blame. Cougars must stop run to hold down California’s air raid attack

PULLMAN – Bay Area cardiologists have been warned: Washington State and California are playing again. Last year’s 60-59 Cal victory in Pullman was a ping-pong match with pads, one that included a 56-point third quarter, two special teams touchdowns in two chances, a single-game passing record and, just as the break-neck scoring reached its feverish climax, a missed field goal from 19 yards that immediately changed the game’s outcome.

Pac-12 picks: Ducks suddenly looking up in the standings

PULLMAN—Poor Oregon. After spending years as the Pac-12’s best and coolest team, suddenly the Ducks are looking up at the programs their fans used to sneer at with regularity. The Ducks’ reputation has fallen hard after last week’s 62-20 loss to Utah. In fact, the game between Colorado and the Ducks is the only Pac-12 contest this week that doesn’t feature a team ranked in the Top 25.
