Vandalism suspected after Balazs sculpture found toppled in downtown Spokane

UPDATE: The Harold Balazs sculpture that was found damaged on Friday was removed for repairs on Monday morning, Spokane Arts Director Melissa Huggins said. Huggins said there are a number of unknown variables regarding the cost and repair of the sculpture. The time frame to reinstall the sculpture is also unknown, she said.

Two killed, officer wounded in Ferry County shooting; all three suspects in custody

The Colville Tribal Police Department was called to the scene of the shooting in Keller, where authorities found two people dead, according to a news release from the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation. Authorities attempted to locate a vehicle seen leaving the area. One officer came across the vehicle, and was struck with gunfire in the arm.
