Woman Froze To Death After Falling On Steps

An 86-year-old Post Falls woman was found frozen to death Tuesday after she fell on the steps of her home, according to county officials. Katherine M. Kea was found dead by her son-in-law who had come for a visit at about noon, according to a Kootenai County sheriff's report.

No Hold-Up Without A Purchase, Robber Told

An armed robber had to pay for a pack of gum twice Tuesday night while he was trying to rob a department store. Coeur d'Alene police still are looking for the robber, who made off with an unspecified amount of cash from the Target store on Canfield Avenue.

Hayden Man Held In Killing

Sheriff's detectives arrested a 37-year-old Hayden man Friday on suspicion of murder. Frederick "Rick" Donohoe is suspected of killing a Kansas City man and leaving his body in a field six miles northwest of Hayden, said Capt. Ben Wolfinger of the Kootenai County Sheriff's Department.

Floods, Slides Close Roads; Drivers Told To Use Caution

North Idaho drivers watched as their roads turned into flood zones Thursday. Officials shut down Ramsey Road between Dalton and Prairie avenues as water filled the major Coeur d'Alene thoroughfare. The sheeting rain and melting snow caused rock and mud slides on several area highways.
