Man Struck, Killed By Freight Train

From Staff Reports

A man walking along railroad tracks was struck and killed Saturday by a Burlington Northern freight train, authorities said.

The man, who was not immediately identified, was walking southbound along the easternmost set of tracks. He was talking to a railroad work crew as a southbound train approached, said Gary Summers, battalion chief for Snohomish County Fire Protection District 1. Witnesses yelled for the man to get off the tracks, but it was too late.
